What is Digital SLR?
The SLR in Digital SLR stands for single-lens reflex. A Digital SLR uses an automatic mirror system and pentaprism (5-sided reflecting prism) or pentamirrorthat directs light from the lens at a 90 degree angle through the viewfinder. When a picture is taken, the mirror swings up (or down depending on the viewing position) and the shutter opens, allowing the lens to project light onto the image sensor.
